Melinda Long is the author of bestseller, How I Became a Pirate and other children’s books Melinda, a long-time pirate fan, lives in Greenville, South Carolina with her husband, Thom, and her three spoiled dogs. She has two adult children, and one beautiful granddaughter. She graduated from Furman University and was a teacher for 23 years. Melinda loves acting, yoga, reading, and of course, writing.

What is the greatest lesson you’ve learned in 2020
I’ve learned that sometime you have to take the winding path to get where you’re going. The straight one might be full of road blocks and bottomless pits.
